When Pontiac introduced the Trans Am in 1969, only 8 convertibles where produced. All of these cars where white with blue racing stripe overlays on the hood and trunk.
Over the next 25 years the Trans Am gained enormous popularity and sold very, very well. However, no convertibles were made until the 25th Anniversary edition. In recognition of the Trans Am’s 25th anniversary in 1994, Pontiac produced 1750 coupes in the same paint scheme as in the introduction year and, in recognition of the very low open car production in 1969, manufactured only 250 1994 25th anniversary convertibles.
This low mileage 25th Anniversary Trans Am was delivered to a Pontiac dealer in Indianapolis, IN and from there was purchased by an exotic automobile broker in Missouri. It was purchased new by its current owner in 1997. It has been parked in the rain but never driven on wet roads. In a busy summer it may travel 800 miles. After 13 years of use, it is approaching a total of 13,000 miles.
It is overpowered , fast and fun to drive. |
