1957 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer D-500

Yep, it's got a Hemi! This magnificient car has been in the same family for almost forty years. It was rescued from a Norwood, MA repair shop in the early seventies. It had been adbandoned by a traveling salesman. The current owners father and brother lived within eye sight of the garage and soon came him with this fully optioned hemi powered beast for just a few short hard earned dollars.

In it's current form, it is powered by a 55 "Chrysler Fire Power " 354 Hemi and is mated to a push-button 727 and a 3:55 8-3/4" rear end.

For the last five years, this car has been driven religously, on aviation fuel, to the All Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA. For 2007, it was one of fifteen cars that participated in the "smoke show contest" (for smoke show details, click here).

Although he did not win (which is determinedby crowd noise, the height of which occuring when a tire and associated quarter panel is blown off), this car has appeard in several 2007 magazines including Mopar Collector Guide, Mopar Muscle Magazine and Muscle Car Enthusiast.
